IL
Written by Idris Goodwin Directed by Joe Peracchio of Tricklock Theater Co. (Albuquerque, NM)
Starring Jonathan Putman, Mark Handley, Aimee Algas and Varrick
Douglas
September 16 - October 14, 2006
After the success of last summer's Danger
Face @ Jinx Cafe Hermit Arts returns with the next installment in
their Pulpish one act serial - a slow burner loosely inspired by
Beckett's Waiting for Godot.
Jack and Wayne, two outlaw brothers are chased into an empty art
gallery, by a mysterious and intimidating force. Wayne nurses a
sprained ankle as Jack contemplates the exsistance of phantasms.
They plan to wait in the gallery until morning, when the source
of their fear wont be hidden by the night. When a photo artist unexpectedly
arrives to install her work the evening turns a slow shade of bizarre.
Featuring
live musical accompaniment by Michael Haeflinger with John Germinaro
(from Luna Blues Machine); and the photography of Stephanie Land,
Mike Bolsinga and David Robinson |

BRAISING
- Tricklock Performance Space - Albuquerque, NM
Written and Directed by Idris Goodwin
Starring Jonathan Putman and Summer Olsson
February 17-March 12, 2006
Tricklock Company, Albuquerque's own professional
international touring company, in collaboration with Hermit Arts of Chicago,
welcome Chicago-based playwright and 2004 National Endowment for the Arts
Playwright in Residence Fellow Idris Goodwin to Albuquerque for the world
premiere of his play, Braising, a sinister comic drama, featuring Summer
Olsson of Tricklock Company & Jonathan Putman of Hermit Arts. The
relationship began with Goodwin and Hermit Arts in the summer of 2004
while Tricklock was performing its international hit The Glorious &
Bloodthirsty Billy the Kid to sold out houses at Chicago's Prop Theatre,
where Hermit Arts is also in Residence.
Braising is a cross-country collaboration with fellow theatre companies
on the cutting edge of their crafts. After having been workshoped for
over a year with Hermit Arts and through Curious Theatre's Rhino Fest
in Chicago, Braising will receive its World Premiere run in Albuquerque
presented by Tricklock Company. Braising will also be the final production
in the beloved Tricklock Performance Space, as Tricklock Company will
be making way for new, exciting opportunities in 2006 and beyond!
"...exceptionally talented...Tricklock Company is physically unstoppable."
- The Chicago Tribune
"...I thank the gods of theater that...every once in a while a playwright
like Idris Goodwin comes along. From the first words of Braising, he shows
he knows what he's doing."
- Chicago Reader
